A Very Busy Week

My week has been VERY busy. Firstly, I am very happy to announce I got my first proper win on Fortnite, today!!! It was a squad game with my friend (professional but no battle pass 😦 ) who’s hurt his leg, and fell over on it yesterday evening so had to go back to hospital (Muppet), and my other friend’s younger brother, who’s in the same year as my brother. My friend’s younger brother rage quit because he went to Lonely Lodge and we went to Lucky Landing to collect some fortbyte my brother was begging me to get but my friend’s younger brother died and we couldn’t collect the reboot card. What’s funny is that he said we weren’t going to win. Ha! I messaged him afterwards and said we won! So me and my friend went to one of the drones (which stayed in the ring 3 times!!!) and we camped out there. Two groups of two came. On the first one I killed one and was knocked but my friend killed him and revived me. The next one my friend killed the first one and I hammered a guy with a turret. Then we went to the ring and there was one guy left which my friend killed and won us the victory. I got 2 kills he got 5.

Anyway, on Thursday I went to my new middle school in Dorset for a transition day. We had to drive up on the Wednesday and stay at my gran and granddad’s. The new school was big but it was annoying that all the people in my class already had friendship groups. They were all loud and noisy and one of them even got into detention! I will miss my class.

We arrived back home at 11:45. We had sports day the next day. I came fourth, fifth, fourth, second and I came third in the cross country. I’d say I’m pretty good at sport but I spent most of my time joking around with my friend (who I won the Fortnite game with) who couldn’t do any of the races apart from javelin. He dared me to throw the javelin so it would land on the canopy over the parents but it hit them instead! Luckily they were only foam javelins. He tried as well but it hit the canopy and rolled off (he still came first). Our team, the red team, came third.

This morning, I played in a football tournament. We did alright: we drew most of our matches, won one and lost two. They were only ten minutes. I didn’t score but I was inches off the bottom left corner. At the end, the leftover food was free so I had a hotdog and a cupcake.

We’ve got pizza for tea from Pizza Hut so I can look forward to that, tonight.

PS: My birthday’s coming up so I might be able to go to Harry Potter Studio as my present 🙂 !!!

Riddle Answers

Yep. The riddles were probably ones you’ve heard before.

The last one I made up but there are ones similar so you probably got it.

1.Starting

2. It was one knight, a king and a queen

3. 28. His friend asked but the shepherd didn’t say yes. His sheep were ill but they weren’t dead.

Book Review: The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

This book is all about a German boy whose dad is a soldier (part of the Nazis). The boy moves to a house near a Concentration Camp and makes friends with a Jewish boy inside the camp.

Although this is a very sad book, it is also one of my favourites with a very moving meaning. I recommend this book because I like wartime books as they always interest me with the culture the people have to survive in. I am currently reading a book called The Silver Sword with my mum and brother, which is to do with the war in Poland.

Riddles and Jokes

I hope you enjoy my riddles because I am not very good at them.

Riddle: What 8 letter word can have one letter taken away and still be a word. Take another letter away and it will still be a word. Carry on going until there’s only one letter left and it will still be a word?

Riddle: One night, a king and a queen went to a castle. The castle was empty and they shut the door behind them with no one else coming through. All the doors and windows were shut and there were no gaps in the walls yet there were three people in the castle. Who was the third person?

Riddle: A shepherd had 28 sheep. A friend asked if he could look after twelve of his sheep. Sixteen of the shepherd’s sheep were ill. How many were left?

Joke: I am so good at sleeping I can do it with my eyes closed.

Joke: When you look really closely, all mirrors look like eyeballs.

Joke: I couldn’t figure out why the baseball was getting larger. Then it hit me.

Joke: I ate a clock yesterday. It felt very time consuming.

Sentences without Grammar!

It’s always fun to think up what sentences would sound like without punctuation. Here are some I have heard of and some I have made up.

What it sounds like: Lets eat grandma!

What it’s meant to be: Let’s eat, Grandma!

What it sounds like: The man eating shark.

What it’s meant to be: The man-eating shark.

What it sounds like: Lets run miles.

What it’s meant to be: Let’s run, Miles.

What it sounds like: Lets see that poppy.

What it’s meant to be: Let’s see that, Poppy.

What it sounds like: Oh man cereal.

What it’s meant to be: Oh man! Cereal

If you can think up some better than mine (which I bet you will) please comment what they are because they make me laugh so badly!

Father’s Day!

Today is Father’s Day and if you’re like me you’ve probably forgotten. If you have, here are some top Father’s Day ideas you can take a look at.

  • a drawing. Dads love drawings especially if it’s by their child and if it includes something that they like (with my dad it’s usually James Bond themes).
  • if you want to do something a bit more creative, try doing a painting. I recommend using acrylic paint or regular paint because it dries quicker than oil paint. But if you do want a bit more detail, feel free to use oil paint but remember to use white spirit instead of water to clean your brush.
  • if you don’t thing your a great artist, how about writing a poem or short story about how great your dad is.
  • maybe making a meal for your dad would be a great idea if you have enough time. Always ask for help from a parent, friend or sibling who is older than you if you’re finding it tricky.
  • if you don’t have time to do any of those, wrap up something from your fruit bowl. This year, my little brother literally wrapped up an orange.

I did an oil painting for my dad this year of an ocean sunset because we are moving to the sea soon so I thought it might be quite nice. It takes a while to dry but hopefully it will still look good.

The black things in the sea are windsurfing boards not sharks!!!!

I got very messy so I wore my old T-Shirt to paint it.

This morning it chucked it down but now it’s bright and sunny. I wish it was like this on my residential on Wednesday; it pored the entire three days!

Today, we are having some beetroot brownies but my mum told my dad they were just brownies and no beetroot. I don’t mind beetroot but I love it when they’re in brownies.

YUMMMMMMMMMM!!!!!!!!!

Book Review: The London Eye Mystery

The London Eye Mystery is a really gripping book about a boy called Ted with autism. When his cousin Salim goes missing, Ted and his sister Kat go on an adventure to try and find a solution to Salim’s disappearance.

I particularly enjoy modern mysteries because it’s interesting how they solve them with 21st century technology. I think you’ll find that practically every book has a hidden mystery otherwise there would be no plot. Some stick out like this one but others don’t. I can only think of two genres that don’t need to have plots which are diaries and poetry. But even with those genres, you tend to find a mystery.

First Post!!!

This is my first post on this site so I hope you like it.

First I need to tell you a bit about myself.

My name is Freya and I am almost 11-years-old. I live with my mum, dad and little brother. We have 3 chickens called Elvis, Oreo and Hilda.

This is Elvis.

I also have two mice called Sonic and Parsnip. I used to have three but Yoshi died.

Sonic (the brown one) and Parsnip (the black and white one).

I am moving all the way to Dorset in the summer which is 4 HOURS AWAY!! It will be very sad because I have lots of friends. I’m going to use the initials of my friends because I’m not sure if they want their names in this.

I don’t really have a best friend but I do have two really good friends. They are both boys and their initials are SA and AS. Their initials are strangely similar. I have other friends like CH, FW, RW, SW (though *anonymous* can sometimes get on my nerves) LP, IF, LM… I have lots of friends. I’ve got to know SA and AS really well because of playing Fortnite together. I have other hobbies too like reading, drawing, trampolining, playing football and writing stuff like I am doing now.

Book Review: The Goldfish Boy

At the moment, I am reading a book called The Goldfish Boy. It’s all about a boy who is afraid germs but one day a toddler who’s staying next door goes missing and he needs to find out what happened… without stepping outside his bedroom.

I’m only part way through but I stayed up till almost ten o’clock last night reading it. I really recommend it especially because it’s one of the books on the ‘books to read before you leave year 6’ list.
